SUMMARY:Poetry of the Body
DESCRIPTION:a workshop where we will learn a framework that comes from somatic practice called SIBAM\, which refers to 5 channels of our experiences–sensation\, image\, behavior\, affect and meaning. we will explore these channels to both build flexibility in our nervous system and provide source material for writing poems. we will practice somatic and poetic techniques to rotate our imaginations. we will read poetry\, scan our own mind-bodies\, and write both individually and collectively. Come open to figure out less and sense for more of what’s unknown to you! No experience necessary. \n\n\n\nBring a notebook and penMeet at the grant park gazebo on the hill at 4pm on Saturday May 9th(backup location the plaza above the grant park parking deck)
